This unique service makes it possible for our customers to receive Internet data directly through their local television broadcasts and provides users with a cost effective alternative to traditional Internet services. Your local television stations have been in the business of providing wireless broadcasting services to their customers for decades in the form of one way TV programming and the addition of the new TV+ Internet system now makes it possible for these broadcasters to offer local TV viewers with a new and valuable service.

TV+ Internet uses advanced digital television technology (DTV) and embeds Internet data packets within the normal transmission signals of the local TV station to provide down channel Internet access to customers in even hard to reach areas of the country. Using a proprietary data transmission protocol, TV+ Internet can be accessed by customers using a special antenna adapter that connects directly to the computer to receive the down channel Internet data traffic. The receiver separates the Internet data from the normal television transmissions and routes the signal directly to the computer.

To complete the communications loop, TV+ Internet provides customers with several up channel connectivity options, ranging from a standard modem return to an advanced high-speed wireless service that connects the user to the station's communications center. The type of up channel connectivity available in your area will depend upon the types of services installed by the local broadcaster and the proximity of each customer to the transmission facility. A phased rollout of up channel service options is planned for most geographic areas and the TV+ Internet system is being made available to all local broadcasters throughout the country who desire to offer this form of service to their customers.
